Rimmel London – Match Perfection Loose Powder | REVIEW

Hello babs! Thought I’d share with you my current obsession thanks to Emmasrectangle on youtube! Now I’m not one for loose powders usually as I suffer from very dry skin so have always been quite wary about whether they will exaggerate my dry patches or not… but I thought I’d give one ago and to be honest, I am really enjoying it. Rimmel London makeup has never really appealed to me, I’ve only tried maybe 1 or 2 things from the brand but this product is amaaaaazing and for £6.99 as well you get 10g of product! You can also get it in different shades but I have the one in translucent.. and guess what guys.. IT GIVES NO FLASHBACK IN PHOTOS!

Packaging

The powder comes in a round plastic container with a blue screw-on lid and a clear bottom. On the lid it has silver writing stating what the product is and the product brand. Inside the container there is a little sifter which allows you to distribute product in little bits instead of it all just pouring out. The packaging is also not too bulky either which I like as this means it won’t take up much room in your makeup storage or in your on-the-go makeup bag.

First impressions

I’m not kidding you, the first thing I got when opening the product was the smell of those Refresher sweets you’d get as a kid (the green, yellow and pink ones), so there is definitely a fragrance to the product… if you’re someone who isn’t a fan of fragranced makeup products then you may not like this… although how could you not, IT SMELLS LIKE SWEETS! The powder is also very smooth to the touch and quite fine as well which I like. Once I had done my first application I was very pleasantly surprised with the product as I thought it was going to cling to my dry patches sooo much but it didn’t which was great as it will suit not only those with oily skin but those with dry skin too 🙂

How I use mine…

I like to use mine to slightly bake under my eyes to set the concealer I have applied there and I will do this using my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. Sometimes I also like to take a fluffy brush and just lightly set the rest of my face so that the products go on easier over my foundation or any other cream products we may have used on our face. Another way I can use loose powder in my makeup routine is by using it to clean up my contour that I have done as sometimes it might not turn out just how I had hoped (makes it more sharper). I can also use it to set my eyelid primer ready to apply eyeshadows onto as it makes for a smoother surface to blend the shadows onto. So yeah, there is a lot of ways you can use this powder which is a plus!

Final thoughts

I cannot recommend this product enough! I’m glad that I have finally been able to try out a loose powder with my skin type as I was very sceptical to begin with but it has also made me want to try out more products from Rimmel London as well. I also really like how easy it is to get your hands on the product as it available in quite a lot of places, e.g. Superdrug and Boots. If you haven’t yet got it… you definitely should on your next makeup shop!

Thanks for reading!
