I Heart Makeup: Salted Caramel Palette🍫 | REVIEW

Hello babs! Get yourselves something to eat or drink as this review may be quite a long one… but worth it!! Eyeshadow palettes are exciting in themselves right but palettes in the shape of chocolate bars.. well, that puts a whole new level to the excitement! I Heart Makeup who is a sister brand to Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup are well known for their makeup dupes and when I came across these I instantly thought of the Too Faced palettes. This one in particular is a dupe for the Too Faced Semi Sweet Palette ($49) but at an amazing price of £7.99!!😱 So I thought I’d share with you my thoughts and opinions on this very affordable eyeshadow palette…

Packaging

The eyeshadows come in come in a sleek brown plastic packaging and has a lighter brown (symbolising the colour of caramel) 3D effect of melted chocolate. Inside it comes with a VERY good not distorted mirror like some products and one of those crappy dual ended padded brushes, you know the ones that don’t really do much?😂 (I seem to have misplaced mine… thrown it away more like) It also has a removable plastic sheet inside which has the shade names of each colour in the order they come.

First impressions

Whether it is my mind playing tricks on me or not, I swear this palette has a hint scent of chocolate… not complaining like but if you aren’t one for scented products then you may not like this product. The shade names sound sooooo yummy!!! Anyway, from seeing pictures online of the Too Faced palette as soon as I opened this it looked pretty much identical to the Too Faced one just with a couple colours in different places. I also really liked the variety of colours in this palette as you can create a range of different looks, from natural to the more smoky ones too! When trying it out on my eyes, I noticed that the shadows are very easy to work with and blend as the formula is very smooth. Another thing that I noticed straight away was the great mirror quality not only because of the size of it but also because it did not make me look distorted like some mirrors you can come across.

The shadows itself…

Side note: I have dipped in twice with my fingers to do my swatches by the way to get more of an effect 😌

Lets start with the top row…

(Without and with flash)

Delicious – This is an off white matte shade which would be good to use to set your eyelid primer. Pigmentation 2/5.
Tempt – This is a black matte shade which is the best black I have come across so far in my collection. Pigmentation 4/5.
Heavenly – This is a light brown matte shade which would be good to use as a transition colour in your crease. Pigmentation 3/5.
Drizzle – This is a darker brown matte shade. Pigmentation 3/5.
Enjoy – This is like a dark brown matte shade with slight shimmer in it. Pigmentation 3/5.

Middle row…

Choc – This is a brown matte shade with slight glitter reflects within it. Pigmentation 3/5.
Cake – This is a light pink shimmer. Pigmentation 2/5.
Perfect – This is a brown matte shade with a grey undertone to it and is very patchy. Pigmentation 1/5.
Crunch – This is a blue shimmer. Pigmentation 2/5.
Sweet – This is an orange matte shade. Pigmentation 3/5.
Fudge – This is a brown shimmer. Pigmentation 4/5.

Bottom row…

Salted – This is a browny sort of shimmer. Pigmentation 3/5.
Candy – This is a light brown matte shade. Pigmentation 2/5.
Caramel – FAVOURITE SHIMMER IN THE PALETTE! This is a gold shimmer. Pigmentation 4/5.
Spoon – This is a peachy shimmer. Pigmentation 3/5.
Yum! – This is a yellowy shimmer and could be good for using as an inner corner or under the brow bone highlight. Pigmentation 3/5.

Final thoughts…

This is my favourite eyeshadow palette at the moment, although there is some hit and misses with the pigmentation of some shades… overall the majority are great! Considering it is a dupe as well for the amount of money paid is a bargain, if you don’t have the money to buy the actual one then can always buy this one to try out first. I think the shade names are cute but I wish they were on the back of the palette as the plastic sheet with them on can be a PAIN!!! If you are someone starting out with eyeshadows then this would be a great palette to buy as you can create a lot of different looks with it. A bonus is the cute packaging… if you’re a sucker for collecting makeup with cute packaging then go for it! This palette is available on the Superdrug and Tambeauty websites. For those lovers of chocolate and makeup… I would definitely recommend for you to pick this up and try out.

Thanks for reading!
