Primark: PS… Cookie Dough – Matte Lip Kit💄 | REVIEW

Hello babs! It’s been a few days since I’ve posted but I’m back with another makeup review! Today I’m going to be reviewing the Primark Matte Lip Kit in the shade Cookie Dough (aaaand now I’m hungry). I picked this up for £3.00 instore which for a lip liner and a liquid lipstick… I think thats a bargain! Honestly, I love the box that the products came in as it’s so eye catching which is actually what drew me to buy this product haha. I think this was the only matte shade my Primark had though, they had another lip kit but in a metallic formula… please let me know if they have any other shades you’ve come across!

Side note: When I took the products out of the packaging I accidentally hit the lipstick against the lip liner and the tip of the lip liner BROKE so be careful 😦

Lip Liner – 1.5g

Packaging

The lip liner comes in a matte black pencil and at the end of the pencil it has the shade colour. It has a clear lid that you can pop on the top to keep the lip liner safe and clean. The name of the brand and product is in gold lettering. There is no shade name on the product… booo!

First impressions

When I swatched this on my hand I noticed that the lip liner is very creamy which is easy to work with and was also easy to apply onto the lips also as I had full control of where I was drawing. As the tip of mine had broke when taking it out of the packaging, I soon noticed this is a pencil you have to sharpen not one you can twist the product up. I like how you don’t have to press too hard with this product as sometimes the formula can be quite hard to work with and normally needs some warming up before it applies smoother… not the case with this one.

Liquid Lipstick – 10ml

Packaging

The lipstick comes in a matte plastic bottle which is in the colour of the shade you are using. It comes with a matte black screw on lid and the name of the product and brand is in black lettering. Again, this doesn’t come with the shade name on the bottle which is slightly annoying!

First impressions

As I took the wand out of the bottle I noticed that it has a very thin wand with a doe foot applicator. There is no noticeable scent for this lipstick which is good for those of you out there who don’t like scented makeup products! When I swatched this on my hand I thought it looked like the perfect nude shade and it applied quite opaque but then when I applied it to the lips…. it was very streaky and I had to apply 2 coats of this to get the desired opaqueness. It did dry down very quickly though which is great although I quickly realise that it emphasised the cracks in my lips very easily… it didn’t feel drying on the lips but you could see it clinged to my dryness. The shade was also very different on the lips then it appeared on my hand… this shade is too nude for my liking 😦

Final thoughts….

I do like this lip kit but I haven’t made my mind up on whether I’m keen on the colour for me as I feel that its VERY nude for my liking… might have to give it another go when I’ve got a full face on and see how I feel then?? Side Note: It comes off way lighter on the lips than it does in the bottle so beware! I do really like this product and to get a lip kit for £3.00 is amazing. If you are a person who loves a nude lipstick then I would definitely recommend picking this up because the formula is good, yes it may pick up on the dryness in your lips but nothing a little bit of lip scrub an lip balm can’t fix! So, is this product ‘Kiss Proof’? – I’m gonna say yes because only the tiniest amount came off on my hand which I was very shook by, well done Primark!

Thanks for reading!

See you in my next post…
