Hello babs! Today I’m going to be talking about the Chocolate Rose Gold palette from I Heart Makeup… I’m so behind on this review because I literally received the Mint Chocolate one in the post yesterday haha🤦🏻♀️ This palette is supposed to be a dupe for the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette which I think is very clever but very sneaky of I Heart Makeup because Huda Beauty is going to be discontinuing their palette soon. I ordered mine off the TAM Beauty website for £8.99 but you can also get this at Superdrug as well. If you’ve read all my other chocolate bar palette reviews then you should know the drill by now haha 😀
The eyeshadows come in a shiny brown plastic packaging which has a 3D rose gold melted chocolate effect on the front. The palette flips open and clicks shut to ensure security of the palette. Inside, it has a great quality and decent size mirror but again it comes with a black dual-ended pointless sponge applicator. It also has a plastic removable sheet that has the names of each shade on it.
MICA, TALC, MAGNESIUM STEARATE, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, KAOLIN, POLYBUTENE, DIMETHICONE, PROPYLPARABEN, METHYLPARABEN, PARFUM, [+/-: CI 77491, CI 77499, CI 77891, CI 15850, CI 77492, CI 77007, CI 15850
Before even opening the palette I was sold on the outer packaging… I mean come on a rose gold chocolate bar!!!!😍 When I first opened the palette to look at the colours I liked that it had a good ratio of matte shades to shimmers/foils. The shade names I was also LIVING for and you’ll soon know why when I talk about all the eyeshadows. This palette definitely does scream “dupe” to me and if you’ve got the Huda Beauty palette or you’ve seen it floating around the internet then I’m sure you’ll agree. I also knew straight away from looking at the palette that I’m going to like it because its all warm tone shades apart from 2 shades. Like the other chocolate bar palettes there is a slight chocolate scent but nothing too overpowering! These shadows have hardly any fallout but there is one which might be slightly difficult to work with because of its formula. They are very creamy and easy to blend on the eyes, some of them do need to be used with a wet brush or finger to get a good colour pay off but thats nothing major!
Side note: I have dipped in twice to do my swatches like I always do to get a good opinion on the shadows pigmentation with build 🙂
Lets start with the top row…
(Without and with flash)

Independent – This is a cream matte shade which could be good to use to set an eyelid primer. Pigmentation 2/5.
I do really like this palette! Sooo, I’ve just recently learnt that shimmers being more pigmented that mattes is normal in eyeshadow palettes as shimmers are easier to create so don’t see it as a bad thing because even though that is the case, the mattes in this palette are buildable. If you’re into your warm tones then this would be a great little palette and if you don’t want to splurge on the Huda Beauty one before it discontinues then definitely pick this up… if you’ve got the Huda Beauty one already then you could pick this one up and do a comparison between them both. For the price you can’t really complain with this palette because the outside is stunning and the shades inside are too!
Thanks for reading!
