Hello babs! I’m feeling a highlighter review today as it seems quite a while since I done one… a few people asked me to talk about this one today so of course thats what I’m going to do! It’s the Lottie London Shimmer Squad (the name is slaying) highlighting palette and you guys know how I am with my highlighter… I have been wanting this for quite a while now after seeing Sophdoesnails rave about it on her Youtube channel so when I saw it in Superdrug I snatched it right up! Side note: Lottie London has just recently released another highlighting palette but that one doesn’t really appeal to me like this one does as the new one is holographic highlighters. This cost me £9.95 which isn’t bad for how big the pans of highlighter are but like I said it’s available from Superdrug and on the Lottie London website.
The highlighters come in a square cardboard packaging that is black with white stripes. It also has peach and yellow coloured stars on the front with the name of the brand and product in white lettering. On the back it has a picture of a face (diagram) and instructions on how to use the product which I like. The packaging flips open and has a magnetic shutting mechanism. Inside it has a small but good quality mirror.
Side note: I have dipped in twice for these swatches as I normally do but they are just as beautiful with one swipe 🙂
(Without and with flash)
The Good Girl – This is a champagne highlighter.
The Flirt – This is a bronze highlighter.
The Troublemaker – This is a white highlighter.
The Queen Bee – This is a gold highlighter.
These highlighters have a creamy formula and feel very soft to the touch. They glide on beautifully over the face, they are not chunky and sit nicely on the skin. They can look slightly glittery on the skin but nothing too in your face which I like as I don’t like my highlighters too glittery! These highlighters are very pigmented so if you’re someone who likes a glow then you will definitely like these.
I am so in love with this palette… I definitely think it will be my new go-to for a while as I can probably wear 3 out of the 4 shades. I also like how they have put a highlighter in to suit a variety of skin tones… the white being for pale, the champagne and gold being for medium and the bronze being for deeper skin tones. Well played Lottie London. I like how they are very wearable highlighters as the shades are nice and neutral. But, if you want something more crazy then be sure to check out their Holographic highlighting palette. I highly recommend this palette and for the money its a steal because the pans are a decent size and you don’t need to use much product so it may last you a while!
Thanks for reading!
See you in my next post…
