I Heart Makeup: Pink Fizz Palette🍫🥂 | REVIEW

Hello babs! I’m going to be reviewing another chocolate bar palette today and this is the Pink Fizz palette by I Heart Makeup. I recently picked this up on Superdrug for £7.99 in the 3 for 2 offer but it is also available on TAM Beauty for the same price. The name of this palette is definitely giving me like a champagne vibe and you’ll be able to notice that from the shade names haha… This palette is also screaming cool tones to me and although I’m not a cool toned gal its still a pretty palette!

Side note: You get 22g of product in this palette for 16 eyeshadows which works out about 1.38g per eyeshadow.

Packaging

The eyeshadows come in a shiny pastel pink packaging that has a 3D melted chocolate effect on the front also in the same colour. The palette flips open and has a secure click shut mechanism. Inside the palette it comes with a big good quality mirror, a dual ended sponge applicator and a plastic removable sheet that has all the shade names on.

First impressions

Like always I like to check if the product has a scent and this does smell like chocolate but it also has a sweet aspect to it which is slightly different to previous chocolate bar palettes. The scent is nothing overpowering but if you are sensitive to scented products then bear it in mind. This palette definitely screams cool tones to me and there is a lot more shimmers in ratio to matte shades (there’s only 3 mattes throughout the palette). I really like the shade names in this palette also because the majority of them are related to champagne which I’m guessing was the theme due to the name… There are quite a few pastel shades in the palette but you do have the odd pop of browns. I have also noticed that you don’t get a transition shade in the palette or have any mattes to deepen up the crease so you might not be able to make a lot of looks with this… When I was swatching the shades I did notice that they are creamy in formula but the pigmentation of them wasn’t the best. The shimmers best apply with a finger or a wet brush to the lid and the mattes are easy to work with on the eye. I did notice there are 2 shades in particular in this palette that look almost identical and they are the shades ‘Rosy’ and ‘Pink Fizz’ (you will see that from the swatch).

The eyeshadows…

Side note: I have dipped in twice to do my swatches like I always do to get a good opinion on the shadows pigmentation with build 🙂

Pink Fizz – This is a pale pink shimmer which is almost identical to the shade Rosy. Pigmentation 3/5.

Final thoughts…

I would have to say that this palette is not my favourite out of the other chocolate bar palettes I own for many reasons… 1. I’m not a cool toned gal, 2. it doesn’t scream out to me, 3. pigmentation is ‘meh’, 4. hardly any matte shades and 5. can’t do many looks with the shades given. I wouldn’t say you need to go out and buy this palette like ASAP but if you do come across it and like the look of it then go for it but if not then you won’t be missing out on anything if you didn’t add it to your collection. To be fair to the brand this is one of the first I Heart Makeup came out with in the collection so obviously they have improved a lot since then so it’s not bad for how makeup was back when it was released but now it’s not the best… Anyway, if you do want to collect all of them like me then definitely get this palette but if you don’t then there are others way better to choose from in the chocolate bar collection.

  1. I love your reviews! Again it’s made me want to buy it, even though you’re not that keen on it I still want to buy it the swatches look so nice 😍 I’ve just posted a review up of Makeup Revolution Pro HD Amplified 35 – Dynamic palette I’d love It if you’d check it out 😀 xxx

  2. This is a great review! Totally agree with you on the two shades looking similar. I am also not a cool-toned girl, and I hate it when companies work on palettes not really thinking about what looks you can create with it. The whole point of a palette is being able to do multiple looks with it without having to dip into other palettes.
