I Heart Revolution Christmas Chocolate Gift Sets

Hello babs! Today I thought I’d do a little post in regards to the I Heart Revolution Christmas Chocolate Gift Sets… Now if you’ve been following my blog for a while you know I am a sucker for collecting the chocolate bar palettes from I Heart Revolution so when I saw these gift sets I was like “YES MORE CHOCOLATE PALETTES” but then it came to my attention that apparently the new releases in these sets are going to be exclusive to the gift sets only (this I do not like). I know I’m a sucker for collecting them but I’m just a little bit bummed that they won’t be releasing them separately after Christmas even when they know how popular they are… anyway enough rambling, I’m going to go more in-depth as to why I’m on the fence about getting these…

*Now before I get into I will say there was a little mess up when they released these gift sets because apparently they were being sold for more than they were actually worth but when they were called out on this they quickly rectified the error which I do think is good of them. Anyway…

  • Salted Caramel Palette (already been released separately)
  • Smores Palette (exclusive to gift set)
  • Cranberries & Chocolate Palette (exclusive to gift set)
  • Lemon Drizzle Palette (not long been released separately)
  • Macaroons Palette (not long been released separately)
  • Strawberry Cheesecake Palette (exclusive to gift set)
  • Praline Mini Face Palette (not sure whether exclusive or not)
  • Chocolate Strawberry Mini Face Palette (not sure whether exclusive or not)
  • 3 lip glosses: Praline, Salted Caramel and Chocolate Cherry (not sure whether exclusive or not)

This is on the Superdrug website for £60… now that does seem a little pricey to me but then on the other hand you are getting 5 chocolate eyeshadow palettes, 2 mini chocolate face palettes and 3 lip glosses. Now the thing that has annoyed me about this is that they have put 3 eyeshadow palettes in there that are currently being sold separately and when you’re a collector like me you will have obviously picked them up already… that means that I can’t really justify spending £60 on a set when I already own 3 things out of it (Salted Caramel, Lemon Drizzle and Macaroons). I mainly want the gift set for the eyeshadow palettes, I don’t really care for the face palettes or lip glosses but I’d definitely use them if I got it but that is not what’s drawing me to the set in the first place. People keep saying “just buy it and then sell/give away what you have duplicates of”… that’s all well and good if you know someone who is interested and who will use/buy the palette, if you don’t then it’s kind of a risk that they’ll just sit gathering dust and you’ll have wasted your money… *I have  heard that apparently they will be releasing Smores and Cranberries & Chocolate separately but that hasn’t been 100% confirmed… for that reason I’m not sure whether to risk it and hope they change their mind and release everything separately or buy it incase they are going to keep the new releases exclusive…

  • Red Velvet Palette (exclusive to gift set)
  • Peanut Butter Palette (exclusive to gift set)
  • Praline Face Palette (not sure whether exclusive or not)
  • Chocolate Heart Bronzer (not sure whether exclusive or not)

This is on Superdrug for £30 which does seem reasonable in my opinion as you are getting 4 products which are all full size. The only reason why I’m wanting this gift set again is for the eyeshadow palette. The face palette doesn’t seem like it would suit me personally but I’d definitely give the bronzer a go. This one I’m probably swaying more towards getting because there isn’t anything in here that I already own so although I may not use the palette that’s only 1 thing I would need to find a home for elsewhere… Unlike the other one, I haven’t heard anything about whether these eyeshadow palettes are going to be released separately or not but I think I’d probably end up getting this one anyway because it’s not a bad price and I don’t own anything in it.

I’m just so not sure what to do guys… part of me really wants them so that I can have the entire collection just incase they don’t get released separately but then part of me wants to wait just incase they release that actually they should release these separately because they would sell well… ARGH I’m just so torn…

Let me know your thoughts and comment what you would do if you were in my shoes because I really need the help!!!!!!

Thanks for reading!

See you in my next post…

  1. That Chocolate Heart set looks really nice. It’s your money but personally I wouldn’t spend the £60 and would wait it out if I already owned three things from the collection. The rest would gather dust and would be a waste of money for me.
