Hello babs! It feels like such a long time since I’ve done a proper review on my blog but today is an exciting one as I’m going to be reviewing the new Mascara Revolution. I got mine free in a goody bag from a Revolution event but this mascara is available both on Revolution Beauty and Superdrug for £8 which I do think is a reasonable price for a drugstore mascara! I have seen a lot of reviews for this mascara so I’m interested to see what I think about it…
Lets see what it’s all about then shall we??
*What I will say before we get into it is that there is nothing on the packaging besides the name of the brand and the product… therefore I’ve had to look up online what the information is in regards to it. In terms of how much product is in there I can’t say because it doesn’t say anywhere on the packaging or the internet. What I can say about this product though is that it is cruelty-free and vegan which is great!!!
The product comes a rose gold plastic tube which is a little chunky. On the packaging it says “THE” and “REVOLUTION” in bold italic writing and the word “MASCARA” is in normal writing. I really like this packaging as I think it looks very classy. It has a little click shut mechanism that allows you to know when you have screwed it back on all the way which I really like. I will say is that the packaging does feel a little cheap because it doesn’t really have much weight to it… honestly it feels very light when you’re holding it. That doesn’t bother me too much as it is only £8 but just bear in mind is that it looks luxe but doesn’t really feel luxe.
AQUA/WATER/EAU, GLYCERYL STEARATE, CERA CARNAUBA/COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) WAX/CIRE DE CARNAUBA, RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, VP/HEXADECENE COPOLYMER, ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, POLYVINYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERIN, CERA MICROCRISTALLINA/MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX/ CIRE MICROCRISTALLINE, C12-16 ALCOHOLS, BENZYL ALCOHOL, CETETH-10 PHOSPHATE, DICETYL PHOSPHATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PALMITIC ACID, LECITHIN, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, SODIUM CITRATE, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, TOCOPHEROL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, BHT, CITRIC ACID, IRON OXIDES (CI 77499).
When I first looked at the wand I will say that it reminded me a lot of the Too Faced Better Than Sex wand but this one is just a little bit more fatter. I do like a fat wand but sometimes they can make it difficult to get right into the lashes but I didn’t have much of a problem when I tried it. The wand picks up just the right amount of product onto it, there was a little excess on the tip but that’s easy to remove. The formula is not too wet and not too dry, it’s just right for application so doesn’t transfer onto the upper or lower lash line. This mascara made my lashes very black and it added a nice amount of length to them. The formula is not too clumpy either so it made my lashes look nice and separated. In terms of volumising my lashes, it didn’t really do much of that. I think this mascara is nice to give a natural look to the lashes, if you want to make your lashes look dramatic then this won’t do that. You can definitely tell you have mascara on but in my opinion I just didn’t get a WOW factor when using it. It’s definitely a really nice mascara on first impressions and I will be sure to use it again for sure!!

I do really like this mascara and will be definitely using it again. I didn’t feel a lot of hype when using it in all honestly but it definitely did the job. If you’re wanting to try out a new mascara then I would recommend this for sure!! Its perfect if you want a more length to your lashes but in terms of volumising then this wouldn’t be the one to go for.
Let me know if you’ve tried this mascara and what you think about it!!
Thanks for reading!
See you in my next post…
