W7 Cosmetics HD FOUNDATION Review

Hello babs! It’s been almost a year since I’ve done a foundation review on my blog so I thought I would try out a new foundation I picked up quite recently. The foundation I’ll be talking about today is the W7 Cosmetics HD Foundation. I picked up mine in the shade Sand Beige. You can get this foundation for £6.95 from the W7 Cosmetics website or for £2.99 from the Fragrance Direct website.

This comes with 30ml/1.05fl oz of product in.

Claims: “Rich and creamy foundation formulated to give an excellent, long-lasting full coverage.”

The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a red plastic pump to dispense the foundation. The pump has a clear lid on it. The name of the brand and product is in black lettering on the frosted glass bottle. The packaging does have some weight to it.

First impressions / Testing the claims

The product has a normal makeup scent to it but you can’t really notice it when applying the foundation to the face. I really like the packaging and think the frosted glass gives a luxurious feel to the product.

The shade of the foundation came out slightly darker than what it looks like in the packaging so if you have somewhere that stocks W7 in store then go in and match yourself otherwise just bear that in mind when finding your shade online.

The formula of this foundation is thick consistently which is creamy and blends out very easily on the skin. This foundation does dry down matte with a slight glow to it and although it is matte, it doesn’t pick up on any of my dryness. The foundation did settle into my forehead lines before setting it so I would say to try and set the foundation as soon as. I feel like this would work great for oily skin because it drys down matte but I have dry skin and this worked nice for me as well. I think the foundation slightly oxidised but nothing too major! You don’t need to use a lot of product either, I think I used 3 pumps and that pretty much did the whole of my face. The product is nice and buildable but I would say not to use more than 2 layers as it can then look quite cakey.

Full coverage? – I would say this is medium to full coverage… it covered the small areas of redness on my face nicely. It can be built up to full coverage but as I said earlier, don’t use more than 2 layers.

Long-lasting? – I would say this foundation is quite long-lasting. I did notice it start coming off my nose but I tend to have that problem with a lot of my other foundations as well. If you powder this down then I think will last quite long, however if you don’t then it may easily transfer and come off.

Final thoughts…

I do really like this foundation and think it looks really nice on the skin. I definitely think this will suit oily, combination and dry skin. Definitely think I’ll be reaching for this one a lot more in my makeup routine. If you can find your shade then I would suggest picking this up for the cheap price on Fragrance Direct but if you can’t then I think £6.95 is a very reasonable price for this foundation. I would pay the £6.95 if I ran out! If you’re looking for a new foundation to try then I would highly suggest checking this one out.
