Hello babs! Today I’m going to be doing my first ever bronzer review on my blog and were going to kick things off by talking about the MAC Bronzing Powder in the shade Matte Bronze. I originally picked this up in Cancun airport on the way back from my holiday in November so the price was in dollars which I can’t quite remember… However you can get this from the MAC website, Debenhams and John Lewis for £23.50 which is a little pricey for me to pay for a bronzer so I probably wouldn’t have purchased it at all, the only reason I did is because I had some dollars left to spend in Duty Free…
There is 10g / 0.35 oz of product in this.
(I am aware that MAC Cosmetics are not everyones cup of tea because they aren’t cruelty-free so if you’re not happy then feel free to click off this post😊)
The product comes in a matte black circular packaging. The name of the brand and the product is in rose gold lettering on the front of the product. There is a button to press in so that the product opens and it clicks shut securely. Inside you do get a little mirror which is a bonus because who doesn’t love a mirror in a product??
Now I personally like a matte bronzer which is why I went for this one, there are others in the range which do have slight shimmers running through them. I like how sleek and simple the packaging looks. There isn’t much of a scent to this product which is good for people who may be sensitive to scented products.
In terms of the product itself, I think this is nice and buildable. It does have some pigmentation to it but nothing too crazy which I personally like as you can then build it up to the desire you want. It doesn’t seem patchy on the skin and blends out quite nicely on top of other base products. It does add a nice little bronze and definition to the face which is what I like in a bronzer, nothing too crazy.
As you can see on the left side of my face there is slight more definition on the cheekbone and slightly more colour. I built this is up a couple of times and I think I could get away with using this as a contour also.
I wouldn’t say this is my go-to bronzing product but it definitely did the job! It does need building up quite a few times but I like the fact it can be built up because then I get the desired amount I want on my face. However, if you’re in a rush then I would probably suggest using a different product as this needs a little more time and effort put in. It’s a nice product for sure but I’m not sure if I’d say it’s worth paying £23.50 for… I’ll definitely keep using it but it won’t be one I go for all of the time. If you want to spend the money then go for it but I’m sure there are more affordable ones out there that are a bit better than this.
Thanks for reading!
