I Heart Revolution LEMON DRIZZLE Palette Review🍋🍫

Hello babs! I’m going to be reviewing another palette out of the chocolate bar collection from I Heart Revolution. The one were going to be talking about today is the Lemon Drizzle palette and I believe I picked this up from the Revolution Beauty website £9 but it is also available on Superdrug for £8.99 (Not sure why there is 1p difference…). This palette is very spring/summery as you will see if you keep on reading and looking at the swatches…

There are 18 eyeshadows in this palette. x10 mattes with 1.2g / 0.042oz of product in each. x8 shimmers with 1g / 0.035oz of product in each.

The eyeshadows come in a shiny ‘custard colour’ plastic rectangular packaging. This palette has a shiny yellow 3D melted chocolate effect on the front. The palette flips open and inside it has a full size mirror. It has a click shut mechanism and the shade names are printed on the palette underneath each individual shade.

First impressions

Now when I first got this palette I thought it was going to smell like lemon but boy was I disappointed… it just smells of chocolate like the majority of the other ones but I really think it would have been a nice touch if they made it have a slight lemon/citrus smell… When I first opened the palette I knew straight away that this would be right up my street, this palette is a very spring/summery palette from the shades that are in here. They are nice and bright and quite warm tones. The pop of coral and the purple really stand out in the palette which I think would draw a lot of people to it. This palette has more mattes than it does shimmers so that is a win win for me as I love a palette with more mattes than shimmers. The only let down with this palette is that 2 of the shades basically look identical to one another and they are the shades Fluffy and Tangy… I think they definitely could swapped one of them out with a complete different shade as you don’t really need 2 of the same colour… For me I think the mattes have better pigmentation than the shimmers which is normally the other way around… the shimmers in this palette are just a little underwhelming for me. Overall the pigmentation of the palette is good but I much prefer the mattes to the shimmers. When working with the shimmers I would recommend using either your finger or a damp brush as they aren’t that intense if you just use a normal dry. The shades blend really nicely together and work really well on the eyes!

Disclaimer: Don’t always rely on swatches of shadows because sometimes they perform better on the eyes than they do in the swatches or vice versa… I just like to show swatches so you get an idea on what the colours look like.

Final thoughts

I really really like this palette and it’s definitely one I would gravitate towards out of my collection. As the spring and summer is coming I definitely think I will get more use out of it. I absolutely love the shade selection in this palette! If you’re in need of a new palette for spring/summer then I highly recommend giving this one a try! If you’re into your warm tones anyway and like yellows, oranges, corals etc on your eyes then this has got just what you’ll need! For the price I definitely think its worth it and you can definitely create a good number of looks with this.
